Next year's edition of Field Day will not take place at its 2018 home of Brockwell Park.

Lambeth Council, which controls the area that houses Brockwell Park, has confirmed that the company behind the festival has not submitted a license application to host the event there once again in 2019, as Brixton Buzz reports.

The festival itself has also confirmed the news saying: "We can confirm that Field Day will not be taking place at Brockwell Park next year. 2019 will mark an evolution of Field Day with more to be revealed soon." It's not yet known where next year's event will take place

"Field Day's decision to hold the festival in a more suitable location is the right one, for them and for the people of Herne Hill," local Green party Councillor Becca Thackray told Brixton Buzz. "While I commend the organisers for their efforts to minimise the disruption to the area in May, it was always going to be impossible to simultaneously satisfy paying festival-goers and meet the needs of local residents."

Field Day had relocated to Brockwell Park for this year's edition after moving from its longstanding home of Victoria Park due to a new venture at that location from AEG Live called All Points East.
