Grönland Records will reissue a clutch of Holger Czukay albums through the rest of this year

Grönland Records has announced plans to reissue a collection of Holger Czukay records, many of which are currently out-of-print.

Their reissue series started last month with the re-release of two of the late Can member's albums with David Sylvian, Plight & Preminition and Flux & Mutability. Next up, on September 28, the label will follow with three further reissues, including Canaxis 5, Czukay's first album which he and Rolf Dammers secretly recorded in Stockhausen's Studio for Electronic music at WDR in Cologne. That record includes early experimentations with sampling and currently sells for sizeable prices on the resale market.

Also following on the same date are Movies, Czukay's first album after leaving Can, and Full Circle, the album he recorded with Jah Wobble and Jaki Liebezeit. The reissue campaign will finish on October 12 with four more of Czukay's solo albums - Der Osten Ist Rot, Rome Remains Rome, Moving Pictures and Radio Wave Surfer - all receiving new editions.

Grönland was previously responsible for the release earlier this year for the retrospective boxset release Cinema, which collected old and previously unreleased material from the late Can member. Its release in March marked what would have been Czukay's 80th birthday.
