Charles Burns – X'ed Out
Charles has been in the underground comic scene forever. He did the cover for Iggy Pop's Brick By Brick record and made his debut in Art Spiegelman's Raw. He also did did cover art for Sub Pop for their mixtape series. His graphic novel Black Hole is his biggest thing, and I love it, but on X'ed Out he's really stretching out as he's using colour, and usually he's predominantly black and white. It's really cool the way he uses full panels with a monochromatic colour palette. It's really great. - BN
