Not the pop band! A lovely room!

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper debuts a new live recording of the track 'Cattie-Face', from his album Solan Goose, to tQ today. The performance, which you can watch above, features Cooper on piano alongside violinist and composer Anna Phoebe, violist Jacob Downs and soprano Charlotte Greenhow, who also plays the violin and glockenspiel.

The quartet's performance was recorded in the Walthamstow Assembly Hall, recently renamed WAH17, a listed venue which has seen live performances by The Rolling Stones, The Sex Pistols, Bauhaus and New Order among others. The hall has also been used extensively as a recording facility, notably by Benjamin Britten who employed it in the recording of his opera Peter Grimes.

Solan Goose was released on Phases on March 23. Each of the album's track titles are the names of birds used on the small Scottish island of Orkney, Cooper's birthplace. 'Cattie-Face' is the Orcadian for the short-eared owl.
