One of our favourite labels Instant Classic keep up their impressive strike rate with a new album from Merkabah

Regular readers of this site will know that we're quite fond of Polish label Instant Classic, with their impressive release rate and eye for seeking out quality records.

It gives us great pleasure then to share the label's next release, an album from Merkabah called Million Miles, which is out tomorrow, and is streaming above ahead of its release.

Merkabah are a Warsaw-based experimental group, pulling free jazz and leftfield metal into their sound, as you can hear above. Million Miles is the band's first album since 2014's Moloch, a record which introduced them to a wider audience and featured as one of our favourite albums of that year.

"Our work on Million Miles started shortly before Moloch was released," says the band's drummer Kuba Sokólski. Gabriel Orłowski, who plays guitar for the group, continues: "The whole process took so long mainly because of our daily jobs, relationships and what not. We decided to take our time and let the music take proper shape.

"It wasn't until half of the record was written when it dawned on us that the new tracks sound more wayward and unsettled then their predecessors. That's when the album's concept came to a fruition and we managed to get onto proper tracks."

Million Miles is out tomorrow and can be pre-ordered here.
