Mark Fisher Anthology To Be Released

An anthology of work by the late, great Mark Fisher, including his writing on 'Acid Communism' will be released next year by Repeater Books

Works by the late Mark Fisher are being collated by Repeater Books for a substantial anthology release next year, including sought-after unpublished material from the unfinished Acid Communism.

A release date is as yet unconfirmed, but publication is slated for late 2018.

The anthology will include Fisher's acclaimed writing from a host of websites, journals and magazines, as well as his blog k-punk. Interviews featuring the writer from the last decade will also be included.

Most notably, Fisher's work on what he called 'Acid Communism', which was intended to be the title of a full-length book, will also be included. Fisher died before the book could be completed, which was envisaged as a follow up of sorts to perhaps his best known work, Capitalist Realism.

The anthology will feature a foreword from music journalist Simon Reynolds, and is edited by Darren Ambrose. It will begin with his earliest k-punk writing from 2003, through to an unpublished post on the 2016 US election.

Fisher, the author of hugely influential books like Capitalist Realism, Ghosts of My Life and The Weird and the Eerie, passed away in January this year, aged just 48.

David Stubbs, writing in a memorial piece here on tQ, said: "The loss of Mark Fisher, aged just 48, has not just left family, friends and colleagues shocked and devastated; it leaves a gaping crater in modern intellectual life."
