Over the course of 41 tracks, Bill Brewster will present "a musical autobiography of sorts" on a new compilation called Tribal Rites set for release next month.

The compilation is said to take the listener on a personal journey through Brewster's 36 years in the music industry as a dedicated historian of various forms of dance music. It takes in music from The Bluecoats, Larry Heard, Maurizio and a whole host more, spanning from 1970s psychedelic rock through to dub techno from the late 1990s.

Split into three sections, the compilation begins in the post-punk period of Brewster's musical life, looking also at the influence of dub on bands involved in that scene. The second section looks at various sounds that could have been placed under the collective ‘Balearic’ umbrella, while the final section concentrates exclusively on house music in its myriad forms.

The compilation will be released across 3 CDs and on double vinyl via Belgium’s Eskimo Recordings on November 4.
