Robin Rimbaud, otherwise known as Scanner, has announced a new album, entitled Fibolae, due to be released in December on Anna von Hausswolff's Pomperipossa Records label.

Above, you can hear lead track 'Savage Is Savage', a collision of drums and distant, moody strings. Having kept himself busy with a number of side projects and specially commissioned works in recent years, Fibolae is Rimbaud's first Scanner album since 2009's Rockets, Unto the Edge of Rockets.

The album looks at a number of the changes that have happened in Rimbaud's life in the time since the release of his last album. 'Inhale', for example, which opens the album, is introduced with answer phone messages from those he has lost in recent years, from John Balance of Coil, DJ Tom De Werdt of Lowlands Distribution, John Everall of Sentrax Records, his mother, his brother, his grandmother and others.

Fibolae is released on December 1 and Scanner will play live at St John on Bethnal Green this Saturday (October 7) as part of 22rpm festival. You can find more details on that show here.
