New South London producer fuses bassline, garage and grime with dancehall tempos on debut record for the label

The last couple of years have seen London's Tobago Tracks build a roster of producers connected via the internet, using platforms such as Bandcamp to share their music, as well as a Radar Radio show to push new producers and DJs throwing music together without getting too hung up on genres.

The latest release from South Londoner Arturo Polizzi, producing as POUNDSHOP, sees him fuse distinctly UK club music genres such as bassline, garage and grime with the percussion-heavy sounds of labels like Her Records. On '6wings', streaming above, he taps into a low-slung, dancehall-like groove, pairing a warped bassline with sub-100BPM drums.

The track will be released, alongside a speedier cut entitled 'Fields' on July 21, and will be available digitally, as with all the label's releases, via their Bandcamp page here.
