British Sea Power and Dutch Uncles have engaged in a little remix exchange, each providing a reworking of the other's music. You can hear Dutch Uncles' remix of 'Keep On Trying' by British Sea Power above and British Sea Power's remix of 'Big Balloon' by Dutch Uncles below.

Dutch Uncles' Robin Richards is responsible for reworking the British Sea Power track while it fell to British Sea Power's Martin Noble to provide the remix of Dutch Uncles.

"Martin and I met last year at the FAMLAB event in Manchester and we discussed the idea of a remix swap ahead of our new albums’ releases over several pints of IPA," says Robin Richards. "I'd already heard Martin's remix of 'Big Balloon' before I started on the 'Keep On Trying' remix and really liked the Talk Talk vibes they had channelled. I decided to again dip into 80s influences for our remix and arranged a Tears For Fears-esque, dramatic chord sequence to fit with the lead vocals, supplemented with some Italian house piano for good measure."

Martin Noble said: "Mine's a bit moody and brooding while Robin's has got a bit of that classic 80s champagne glitz. I’d hope that Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) would approve. I was feeling quite relaxed when I started on the 'Big Balloon' remix, so I halved the BPM to maintain a slow heart rate. I’d just watched some amazing footage of Talk Talk live in Montreux (’86) and I played the bassline to 'Life What You Make it' over the top of 'Big Balloon' and it fit perfectly."

The original of 'Keep On Trying' features on British Sea Power's most recent album, Let The Dancers Inherit The Party, released in March, while Dutch Uncles' original track features on their most recent album, also titled Big Balloon, which was released in February of this year.
