Experimental composer Nat Evans will release his new album, Coyoteways, at the end of the month, and above you can hear 'Gaze', taken from the album, streaming ahead of the record's release.

'Gaze' is an engrossing listen throughout its 10 minutes, Evans putting to use the distant sounds of windchimes against eerie, drone-like guitars, summoning images of vast rural expanses, much like those Evans will have encountered on the travels he undertook in putting together the album.

The content of Coyoteways is drawn from Evans' experiences with coyotes while walking thousands of miles on the Pacific Crest Trail, having spent time camping on the sides of roads in rural areas of Nevada and exploring canyons in Colorado.

Evans has been influenced on this album by the work of Beat Generation writers like Gary Snyder and Allen Ginsburg who also wrote coyote tales, with the musician closely studying past writings about the creatures in order to develop what would become this new album. He also employs field recordings widely across the record, captured on his travels as well as in his native of Seattle.

The album is out on March 31 via Mon Amie Records
