Following the release yesterday of 'Charm Assault', the first track to be unveiled from the upcoming new album from Ride, the band have now shared another new track in the form of 'Home Is A Feeling'. Listen to it above.

As with 'Charm Assault' and the rest of the band's forthcoming album, the track is produced by Erol Alkan. The band's Andy Bell says: "Out of all the new songs, 'Home Is A Feeling' comes closest to the early Ride sound. We felt comfortable going vintage on this tune because the album we are making has a pretty broad sonic scope. It’s a short and sweet, melodic tune, with stacked harmonies, reverbed-out guitars, slowed down drums, and a huge distorted bass sound. Erol put his sage-scented electronic wizards hat on to sample up some of our harmonies and make them into a synthesiser preset, which we ended up using on this and some of the other tunes too. We wanted this song to sound jet lagged, so everything on it was recorded with varispeed, either faster or slower than real time."

Both tracks will feature on the band's forthcoming fifth studio album which is lined up for release by Wichita this summer. On producing the new album, long-time Ride fan Erol Alkan said: "Nowhere and Going Blank Again were big records for me and my friends when we were growing up. I've vaguely known Andy for a few years through his brother-in-law but we didn't actually meet until a couple of years back. I had an email from them asking if I'd like to collaborate with the band, and once I'd heard the demos, I was 100% in. The new music contains all the great elements you want from Ride - Great songs, loud guitars, beautiful harmonies, powerful rhythms."

The band will play Glasgow's Barrowlands on March 24, as part of BBC 6 Music Festival, and will play Belfast's Limelight (March 21) and Dublin's Olympia Theatre (March 22) in the days preceding that show. You can listen to 'Charm Assault', shared yesterday, below.
