Friends and colleagues set up fund in memorial of the influential music writer

A memorial fund for Mark Fisher, the highly influential music writer who died last Friday, has been launched by a number of his colleagues.

Fisher attracted a dedicated audience to his K-Punk blog, writing about various forms of mainstream and underground culture, and had also penned a number of books, most notably the Zero Books-published Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative?, which looked at how capitalism had been presented as the only realistic political-economic system.

The memorial fund has been set up to raise money for Mark’s wife, Zoë, and his young son, George. A note on the page says: "We - Mark’s friends, comrade, and Goldsmiths and Repeater colleagues - have set up this collection to raise money for them, in the hope that it will allow them space to grieve and come to terms with their loss, and reduce the number of things they have to deal with at this devastating time."
