Early electronics pioneer will feature as subject of new archival release from Public Information label

Early electronics pioneer Malcolm Pointon will be the focus of a new archival release from Public Information, marking the label's first release in two years. You can check out a selection of clips from the release above.

The release, entitled Electromuse, features an assortment of previously unreleased material recorded by the musician at his home. His first music was made using a four-waveband radio and multi-speed tape recorded, while he also created his own battery-powered synthesiser, which was named the Minisonic.

The Minisonic is the device which Pointon used to create much of the music that is featured on Electromuse. Pointon died in 2007 having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of just 51. Public Information will donate all profits from sales of Electromuse to the Alzheimer's Society. It's out on October 28 and can be pre-ordered here.
