Richard Youngs will release his latest album, The Rest Is Scenery, this December, via Glass Redux, and you can take a listen to a track from it, entitled 'Hey! Hey! Hey! Utopia', above right now.
Youngs' releases total well over 100 by now - the release of The Rest Is Scenery marks his 146th in fact. "This remains a collection of songs that can be covered by anyone within hours of picking up a guitar," says Youngs of the album. "Liberated from dexterity, all that is required is the holding down of two fingers and a steady strum. At the core of each is one chord. The rest is scenery."
The track itself eludes an air of paranoia in its frenetic squalls of feedback amongst a simple, repeating guitar chord rolling out across its three-minute length, and Youngs' treated vocals sitting atop it all.
Youngs will tour the album following its release and you can find a list of his upcoming dates below while you can pre-order the album here.
