Documentary will be launched with New York City event featuring Genesis Breyer P-Orridge

Sacred Bones and Dais Records have teamed up to present the first authorised documentary on Thee Temple of Psychick Youth with a Kickstarter campaign currently in action to support its production. You can check out a trailer for the film above.

Entitled A Message From The Temple, the film will tell the group's story through the accounts of its members and collaborators taking in interviews, personal archives and media accounts. The group was spearheaded by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and caused a wave of moral panic in the 1980s through its transgressive and often provocative ethos and public image.

A Message From The Temple will look back at the group's influences and founding and trace that all the way through to its ending and the legacy it left behind, drawing distinctions with the present day and asking whether their challenging actions are as relevant today as they were at their height over three decades ago.

The documentary will be launched on October 15 in New York City where an evening of Psychic Television Transmissions" is promised, which will involve a discussion among Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Tom Headbanger, Paul "Bee" Hampshire, Pieter Schoolwerth, and others. The event will be held to support the funding of the documentary, and you can find out more information on the launch event and on how you can support the documentary here.
