The band's Anika puts together a special mix comprising 7" records from her own collection

This Friday sees the release of the new self-titled album from Exploded View which will be issued via Sacred Bones. With that, the band's Anika has put together a special mix of 7" records for your listening pleasure above.

The mix takes in music from David Bowie, Grace Jones, Madlib, The Specials and Bananarama, among others, across its hour-long runtime. You can click through via the embed above for a full tracklist.

The Exploded View project comes some years after the release in 2010 of Anika's self-titled debut album, having now joined up with Martin Thulin (who also plays with Crocodiles), Hugo Quezada and Hector Melgarejo to complete the band.

The four approached the recording of their debut album in a very direct way, choosing to eschew excessive rehearsals and instead improvising and capturing one-take recordings. The band play live in the UK later this month, taking in dates at Brighton's Hope & Ruin (August 20), Green Man (August 21), Bristol's The Exchange (August 21) and London's Shacklewell Arms (August 23).
