PM Dawn – 'Set Adrift On Memory Bliss'
That song is off the first record I ever bought [Of The Heart, Of The Soul And Of The Cross: The Utopian Experience]. I remember turning 11, or something like that, and it was 1991. I think my mum bought me a stereo for my birthday – a record player, and I just needed to buy a record. I didn't buy music until I got a stereo and then I had to buy music. So I went to go buy records and I remember this being the first one I bought and it was contagious. I listened to it over and over again, maybe because it was the only record I had, but it became something that I just knew instinctively. I knew all the words. I really enjoyed it because when they put out a single back then, they would also put out an instrumental and a longer version too. There would be three versions of the song on the vinyl and I would play the instrumental to myself a lot. I used to speed it up and just play about over it and try to DJ basically. So this song and this record in particular had me feeling like a DJ at times.
