Over the years, Radio France has amassed an extensive collection of records and now they have revealed details of some of that collection to be sold at a public auction.

As Resident Advisor reports, the radio station has shared details of over 8,000 vinyl records which they will be putting up for sale at an auction. The records are all double copies of music across the station’s collection which stands totally at 1.6 million records. The collection is organised across 10 records taking in music from Fela Kuti, The Velvet Underground and even a 7” copy of Syd Barrett’s Octopus, the estimated value of which stands at between €6000-€7500.

The profits from the auction will be used to fund the station further including Radio France’s ongoing efforts to digitise their entire programme. You can browse the entire auction sale catalogue here.
