Club is offering attendees the opportunity to donate £1 of all advance tickets to UK-based charities helping refugees

London’s Fabric has followed in the footsteps of a number of Berlin clubs with the announcement that they will now offer attendees the option to donate £1 on advance ticket purchases to UK-based charities helping refugees.

The charities include Help Refugees, CalAid and Refugee Action. “Watching the recent plight of the men, women, children and the families stranded at the refugee camps in northern France as their situation unfolded has been harrowing and disturbing,” said a statement on the club’s website.

“Of course, we’d like to wholeheartedly encourage everyone to give what they can in terms of charitable donations but we also wanted to find other ways that we could help. Starting today there’ll be an optional £1 donation on every advance ticket purchased for our club nights. The entirety of that one pound donation will then be donated to the organisations we’ve listed below.”

The club’s statement also says that it is looking into other ways to help charities supporting refugees. The move comes in the wake of a programme called PLUS 1 which has seen a number of Berlin clubs raise tens of thousands of euros for refugee charities from guestlist donations.
