Fundraiser this Sunday to raise money for Hackney Migrant Centre

This Sunday new Hackney venue MOTH CLUB will host a fundraiser show for Hackney Migrant Centre which will see eight live bands, plus DJs, playing across the day.

Among those playing are Bruno Wizard & The Homosexuals, Blueprint Blue (which comprises members of S.C.U.M. and Astral Pattern) and Woolf, while Fat White Family’s Taishi Nagasaka will makeup the alias of DJ ONONiiONIONIION for a DJ set. Hackney Migrant Centre offers free advice to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants on a number of issues and all the money raised at the show will go directly to the centre and to those who need help. Organiser Samir Eskanda said: "Immigration raids are regularly carried out in our towns and cities. Asylum-seekers are detained in centres around the UK. These forms of social control need to be resisted in the same way as migrants are welcomed: by uniting against racism and opposing global inequality." Entry will be by cash donation and more information can be found here.
