Ride With Sailor Jerry
The Quietus , August 26th, 2015 16:22

Sailor Jerry is on a two-week road trip, pit-stopping around the UK, riding a custom Harley built by the dark garage-wizards at King of Kicks

From Hunter S. Thompson’s Hell’s Angels – and that ride through bat country – to Kerouac’s being quite literally On The Road, here at The Quietus we’re on pretty good terms with the spirit of the tarmac. And, though personally we’re more familiar with a Megabus than a motorbike, Sailor Jerry has us more than covered for our many, many sins.

The chop shop sorcerers at Kingdom of Kicks have built a custom Harley for a two-week road trip across the UK, pit-stopping across the country and meeting with the kind of people you really only meet when you’re out on the road. (Or occasionally in a harshly-lit office with a door that doesn’t lock.)

The Ride isn’t just for the road, though: Sailor Jerry Presents are rolling up with one-off events for the duration for those savvy enough to keep up with the crew and their eye on Twitter for brand ambassador Emma Li’s klaxon to action.

As champions of the written word we firmly believe there’s a prefix for everyone in this world. And, if watching isn’t your thing and you’re more into doing, well, how about winning? Grab a snap with the crew for your chance to (here’s that word again) win via the urban voodoo of the internet with #therideSJUK.

We can’t all be Kerouac and we sure as hell can’t all be Hunter. And that’s probably for the best. But if – between the great outdoors, a vicarious life on the road, the chance to meet some of the UK’s more eccentric characters and some possible free stuff – something in there hasn’t caught your attention … well, why not?
