Road trip wah-fest gets tour footage video from space rock duo

Prolific space rock merchants White Hills, longstanding favourites up here at tQ HQ, put out their latest album, Walks For Motorists, earlier this year on Thrill Jockey. Exemplifying its pared-back approach is 'Wanderlust', a scuzz bass-lined groover of monotone chant and frazzled flights of wah-fancy. Now, with a stack of dates in support of Mudhoney in Europe coming up, they've given us a look at the track's video. Watch that above, take a look at the gig listings here and read what the band's Ego Sensation has to say about the promo: "White Hills has spent a lot of time on the road over the past few years and the song 'Wanderlust' is about our love of touring. The fragmented squares and roaming camera are a metaphor of trading in the monotony of order for the freedom and uncertainty of life on the road. The footage from the second half of the video was taken from various tours through the US and Europe over the past four years. Some of my favourite moments from tours were caught on my phone - like the perfect full rainbow we came across in Spain in October 2012 and the flock of sheep that came running down a highway towards our van in Basque Country in September 2014."

And in other White Hills news, the band now have an app. As well as a scrapbook of photos and artwork, tour info and an in-built SoundCloud stream among other features, there's also an audio mixer that allows you to noodle around with an original track from the band. Download it - for free - here.
