Dub poetry and DIY Krautrock action at May 14 date of tQ editor's An English Trip book tour

The Quietus' editor John Doran is embarking on his month-long An English Trip today, a 31-date book tour accompanied by Norwegian noise magus Kjetil Nernes of Årabrot to mark the publication of his first book, Jolly Lad, leaving no corner of the country unvisited and no day of the month rested 'pon. Head over to Strange Attractor Press' site to buy the book here.

Suffice to say every date promises to be a treat, and there'll be collaborators aplenty - take a look at the full details of the tour, and read an extract of the book, here. The London show - at The Lexington on May 14 - will see John and Kjetil joined by Roger Robinson, dub poet, a member of the mighty King Midas Sound and Techno Animal collaborator, who'll be releasing his new album, Dis Side Ah Town, on Jahtari Records the day after the gig, May 15. Watch the video for 'Ashes To Fire' from the album below. Completing the bill will be Krautrock Karaoke, the excellent night run by Kenichi Iwasa of experimental improvisatory trio Xaviers. It's been going for two years and sees Kenichi assembling the finest musicians in town to run through tracks by Can, Neu!, Faust and more, as chosen by you - simply upload a song to the Facebook event and those with the most likes will make it into the set list on the night. Keep your eyes on tQ for a competition to win tickets to the gig, but for the time being, they're only £7 apiece (or £18 with a copy of the book), so invest in a grand time here.
