As ever, the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia do not rest on their laurels and just book a load of dudes with beards to stomp on pedals and wish it were the 60s. As Julian Marszalek wrote in his review last year: "There was always a fear that the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia would paint itself into a corner but these doubts have been well and truly dispelled. Buy expanding the facilities, on-site activities and a booking policy that has embraced psychedelic music in all its forms, the festival has come to be the go-to destination for the more discerning head. Indeed, such has been the all-encompassing nature of this year's event that the appetite has already been whetted for what next year has in store. And really, it can't come quick enough."

Praise be, then, that Liverpool Psych Fest have revealed a host of new names from across the board to join the line-up. Leading the announcement are long-term Quietus favourites Factory Floor, which rather ties in with John's essay on what makes psychedelia from the other year - read that here. In a similar 'get the bangers' in booking, the brilliant Karen Gwyer has also been added. The Heads' recent return has been talked about as being among the gigs of 2015 thus far, so we're pleased to see them added to the bill, alongside Leeds psychedelic heavyweights Hookworms. They will join a festival line-up already containing space rock veterans Spiritualized and a unique collaboration between Sacred Bones Records and BYM Records.

Jacco Gardner, Jane Weaver, Joel Gion, Karen Gwyer, Dengue Fever, Carlton Melton, Indian Jewelry, Lumerians, Black Devil Disco Club, Blanck Mass, Destruction Unit, The Holy Drugs Couple, Chicos De Nazca, Vuel Veteloca, The Ganjas will also appear, as will The Cult of Dom Keller, Etienne Jaumet, The Feeling Of Love, Forever Pavot, J.C. Satan, KandodoO3, Mamuthones, Mai Mai Mai, No Joy, The People's Temple Pinkshinyultrablast, Slug, Tess Parks, The Underground Youth, Weird Owl and Young Knives. Other new additions today include The Altered Hours, Big Naturals, Bonnacons Of Doom, Corey Bowen, Equations, Charles Howl, Crows, Dreamweapon, Girl Sweat, Holovr, Holy, Kogumaza, Noveller, Pauw, Phobophobes, Plastic Mermaids, The Proper Ornaments, Strange Collective, The Tambourines, Tau, Throw Down Bones, Turzi, The Wharves and Yung. Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre will also feature as the artist in residence. The event will take place on September 25-26 at Camp and Furnace, Blade Factory and District in Liverpool.
