CULTURE OF VOLUME out via EIY's new label XL in April

East India Youth has just announced his second album! CULTURE OF VOLUME will be released on XL Recordings, who William Doyle, for EIY is he, signed to after putting out his debut TOTAL STRIFE FOREVER through Stolen Recordings last year. He's keeping the details close to his chest for the time being, but has said in a Facebook post that it will be out on April 6, was mixed by Graham Sutton, who took up production duties on These New Puritans' very fine Field Of Reeds album, and features artwork from frequent live collaborator Dan Tombs. A press release adds that Doyle recorded and produced the album at home in London, with the title taken from the poem 'Monument' by Rick Holland. Tombs' cover, meanwhile, was inspired by Andy Warhol. Take a look at that above, with the tracklisting at the foot of the page, and get your pre-orders in here.

Regular readers may know that we're rather big fans of Mr Doyle around here. We've interviewed him a couple of times, once in 2012 and again last year, shortlisted him for our 2012 Jovian Bow Shock Prize and placed the supremely ace, Mercury-nominated TOTAL STRIFE FOREVER at number four in our favourite albums of last year. Ah, yes, and we founded the Quietus Phonographic Corporation to put out his debut EP, Hostel. While there's no music for the moment, enjoy that debut in full below and keep an eye out for further CULTURE OF VOLUME updates on tQ:

  2. 'END RESULT'
