HTRK team up with Belgian project Sleeperhold Publications for vinyl-only mini-LP featuring tracks from the recording sessions for the then-trio's 2011 album Work (Work Work).

Melbourne's HTRK have collaborated with the ongoing Sleeperhold Publications project for a new one-sided vinyl release made up of music from the recording sessions that resulted in 2011 album Work (Work Work).

The release, entitled Body Lotion, features three tracks derived from album track ‘Slo Glo’, two of which containing the distinctive baselines of Sean Stewart, who died in 2010, before Work (Work Work) was released. It follows 2014 album Psychic 9-5 Club, the band’s first full-length project since the passing of Stewart.

Closing track, ‘Body Lotion’, streaming above, is a murky effort, Jonnine Standish’s hazy vocals sitting atop a trademark HTRK bassline. ’Sugar’ and ‘Punch’ were both recorded live in the group’s London rehearsal room by the then-trio.

The mini-LP is available via Sleeperhold Publications, a Belgian-based publication platform aiming to produce ten projects before disbanding. Its current project, of which Body Lotion is a part, is to produce a run of ten vinyl records. HTRK’s release is the fifth in the series following on from efforts by Tropic Of Cancer, Moon Duo and more. Sleeperhold say: “There is no recurring theme, there is no recurring format, there is no recurring audience.”

Body Lotion is a vinyl-only release, limited to 350 copies, featuring artwork from London-based David Ferrando Giraut, who has a long-standing relationship with the duo. The B-side contains an etching from Dutch artists Scheltens & Abbenes.
