Quick trip through Mouse On Mars man's upcoming new Thrill Jockey LP

Jan St. Werner, best known as one half of German electronic duo Mouse On Mars, is putting out a new record at the end of this month. Miscontinuum Album hits shelves on January 26 via Thrill Jockey and comes as the latest instalment Fiepblatter Catalogue series. As the title suggests, it concerns itself with time and features vocals from Bo Ningen's Taigen Kawabe and Kathy Alberici, along with a libretti penned by Markus Popp of MoM associates Oval, read out by Dylan Carlson. TJ tell us that the text "involves a progressive distinction of time as a force rather than a structuring system, and an individual who can shift consciously between states within that force". And what's more, it sounds, and looks, ace - get a taster of it with the above video, which features Alberici and Kawabe and scans through the album's tracks.

Meanwhile, Werner will be performing the album in full at a show put on by the Barbican at LSO St Luke's, aided by Alberici and Kawabe, on February 8, while the day before, he's got a gig at Cafe OTO, where he'll be joined by Tilman Kanitz, Thomas Mahmoud and Michael Rauter for a performance based on one of his short poems. Ahead of both, he'll have an AV installation at CTM in Berlin, running from January 23. Pre-order the album here.
