A-Trak, Leif Elggren and more collaborate to celebrate Warhol's relationship with Absolut

Absolut recently made big on their links to Andy Warhol - as well as producing a celebrated 1986 painting of one of their bottles, the artist apparently liked to use its contents as a perfume - by launching a new edition named in his honour, whose design gives a nod to Warhol's colourful rendering of the bottle. They did so by staging a four-way collaboration between producer A-Trak, sound artist Leif Elggren, Berlin animation studio Schnellebuntbilder and the Andy Warhol Foundation hosted, naturally, in New York. For the event, Elggren was given access to a variety of objects from Warhol's studio which he recorded using electronic voice phenomenon equipment. And, before you tell us where to shove our Campbell's soup cans, it turns out Elggren got some results, apparently picking up messages from Warhol such as "I am waiting" and "How could that be?". These were combined with A-Trak's DJ set to stimulate Schnellebuntbilder's light show, featuring illuminated Absolut bottles suspended from the ceiling as a homage to Warhol's use of repetition. Take a look at the video above and head here for further details.
