Second in our series of interviews from The Holy Bible: My Testament doc

This week, we're hosting a series of five video interviews from the upcoming documentary The Holy Bible: My Testament. Produced by Cardiff-based outfit Barefoot Rascals and presented by Simon Price, it coincides with the band playing the album live in full to mark its 20th anniversary, culminating this week with three shows at London's Roundhouse.

Today's video features friend of the site, journalist, Louder Than War founder and Membranes and Goldblade man, John Robb. He and Simon discuss how The Holy Bible was a departure from the Manics' previous work, seeing a distinct alteration in their sound. Says John: "They'd just done two great anthemic rock records, and they almost completely throw their career away by making a very lo-fi record. What I really like about the record, probably more than the darkness of it, is it's a very claustrophobic record. It was recorded in a very small studio and you can hear that in the drum sounds, they're almost like biscuit tins, which is great and I like those kind of records."

Take a look at yesterday's interview with theatre performer and artist Dizzy Spell here and stay tuned for another video tomorrow.
