Title track from Taman Shud's just-announced debut album, out next year

Here's some fine news for your Monday. Taman Shud, Marianas Trench enthusiasts, vivisepulture research quartet and self-described "occult louts" will be releasing their debut album early next year. Viper Smoke is out on January 19 through Trashmouth Records, and follows on from the split EP the band released with Fat White Family last December, as well as a couple of tracks they contributed to the label's recent compilation, Thinking About Moving To Hastings. It was produced by label boss Liam D May at their Trashmouth Studios, and they've very kindly give us a first spin of the title track, another noise-crusted slab of monolithic drone, a seething mass of guitar, bass and drums cutting a trawling path under Neolithic vocals. Telling tQ's Ben Graham about the origins of the band as an antidote to the mundanity of the office grind, singer Nick explained: "For me, it's about coping with the professional world. It's the space outside of capitalism where all sorts of magical, imaginative possibilities become live again. We're so fucking loud that anyone who comes to our shows is just subjected to such a level of loudness and occult ideas and just ridiculousness that it forces capitalism out of this magic space." Before the album's released, the band will be playing three dates in London, so be sure to catch them at any or all of the following:

NOVEMBER
Thu 27 - The Finsbury, London w/ Thee MVPs
Fri 28 - 100 Club, London w/ Gallon Drunk

DECEMBER
Fri 5 - The Lexington w/ Part Chimp
