Diabolical Crackers: Trans Am's Favourite Albums
The Quietus , September 8th, 2014 07:51

With new LP Volume X just out, the Washington D.C. trio split the top albums rundown three ways and self-pen us their Baker's Dozen

When we were asked to compile a Baker's Dozen list of our 13 top favourite albums, we jumped at the chance. Then we immediately forgot about our task and left it until the last minute. Thankfully, the nice people at the Quietus has been very lenient with the deadline and we finally squeezed out this definitive list.

Despite our collective foot-dragging, compiling a list of Trans Am's 13 favourite albums is not a difficult task. We all grew up together, so our personal favourite albums and our bands' collective musical conscious can't really be separated. Growing up in the relentless suburbs of Washington, D.C., staking claims like "Van Halen is better than U2" or "Sonic Youth is better than Spin Doctors" are what helped us identify ourselves. This list could have been made in 1989 when our musical development was at its zenith. It's been a slow coast downhill since then.

Volume X is out now via Thrill Jockey; head here to get hold of it. Click on their image below to begin scrolling through Trans Am's choices
