tQPC wyrdos play Secrets Of The Earth in session; album out in a fortnight, with launch show in London on August 12

Here's a Tuesday afternoon treat for you: Grumbling Fur, playing an ace, live version of the - previously unheard, we should add - Preternaturals track 'Secrets Of The Earth' in session for The Line Of Best Fit. A big hat-tip to Daniel O'Sullivan and Alexander Tucker and Sebastien Dehesdin on camera, Kristian Craig Robinson aka Capitol K on sound and Total Refreshment Centre for providing the venue.

In further information to bolster your day, the album is out in less than a fortnight, August 11 precisely, via the Quietus Phonographic Corporation. It's been getting some excellent responses in the press recently, with Mojo's Andrew Male praising the "mood of unease here, as if these transportive pop chants were also magic spells designed to awaken something ancient and terrible", while Q's Victoria Segal said the record inhabited the Fur's own "wonderful world […] a very old-school British psychedelia that hints at rituals behind the privet and sigils on the parquet floors".

Tucker and O'Sullivan will be launching the album at Corsica Studios in London the day after release, August 12, where they'll be expanded from a duo, as well as being joined by Tim Burgess in support; full details coming soon, but for now, get hold of tickets here.
