First look at video for Dumbo Dumbo, a collaborative version of an unrecorded Arthur Russell song, made with Arthur's Landing

The last we heard from Standard Planets, they'd just put out their debut single, collaborating with former Wallenstein and Ash Ra Tempel man Harald Grosskopf, and we've now got another fine joint effort in the shape of its follow-up, 'Dumbo Dumbo'. Out next Monday, August 4, via Fin-A-Dee Six Records, it's the product of the London trio joining forces with Arthur's Landing, a collective of musicians who worked with Arthur Russell, and bringing 'Dumbo Dumbo', a piece Russell wrote but never recorded during sessions with Dinosaur L in 1978, to life. The track's a tight rhythmic mesh flanked by seething strings, which slowly unfurls into a luminous second half, propelled by submerged house rhythms and glittering, arpeggiating synths. 'Miracle', the B-side and another collaboration with Arthur's Landing, meanwhile, is another immersive cut of dark disco, a steadily-growing, fractured complement.

Watch our premiere of 'Dumbo Dumbo's aqueous video above, with 'Miracle' below. Pre-order the single, out digitally and on limited edition cassette, from Boomkat, and keep an ear out for the band's next single, which we're told will be released in November on USB and will feature remixes from Colin Potter of Nurse With Wound, alongside Shift Work and Speak Galactic.
