Owen Pallett's new album helpfully gives us the title for our latest Baker's Dozen, as he talks Luke Turner through selections including Tori Amos, Throbbing Gristle, Jean Luc Ponty, Dean Blunt, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Total Freedom and Diamanda Galas

The Blankket - Pegatively Nositive
It's a record made by Steve Kado, who's one of my best friends, and I sing on it a little bit. It's got two songs on it, 'Failure Is Our Game' and 'Independence Is No Solution' that are very meaningful to me. I used to cover 'Independence Is No Solution'. I've covered a few of Steve's songs because he has successfully identified in his mind, and mine, what makes Beat Happening a punk act, and has turned this into an entire art practice, both through his band and his lecturing and talking - he has a radio show about talking. Steve is just a huge influence on my life in general. I've put this here mostly because people should listen to this record.
