TUNE OF THE YEAR! AIEEEEEE! Plus! New Avery video

Earlier this year, we were sat in the Quietus HQ minding our own tea and business and listening to a Perc mix filmed and recorded at a French club. Suddenly, a noise started that rather peaked our interest.... CHRK-BEEP CHRK-BEEP CHRK-BEEP CHRK-BEEP it went, an alarm warning of something dire impending, before with a massive crunch some infernal bastard shouted an unintelligible threat or order and it built and built and built and then KABOOM! WHAT A DROP! WE WERE LEVITATING ABOVE OUR VERY OFFICE CHAIRS! Anyway, enquiry revealed that this was Perc's remix of Daniel Avery's 'Reception', and since that date it has been pretty much our favourite track of the year, much anticipated in Perc DJ and live sets, and a perfect pick-me-up when the world is glowering above your head, and the road ahead looks tortuous and strange. The remix is now available on 12" via Phantasy, and is mixed so loud that E17 shook when it arrived from the Juno shop. The flip is a remix of 'Naive Response' by Danny Daze. You can listen to an edit of this Perc/Avery chopper / guillotine / gibbet above, and watch the new video for Daniel Avery's 'All I Need' belo. We'd also recommend you purchase his debut album Drone Logic - read our review here. Perc can be found in more reflective mood this Thursday, November 7th, when he plays an ambient set in support of Biosphere at the next St John Session in Hackney - full info here.
