Mission Of Burma - ‘Mica’
In Boston Mission Of Burma were legends and we came after them. So it was like, “You guys MISSED IT!” And we were like, “Oh damn.” But I toured with them as 50 Foot Wave a couple of years ago and they just have their sound and they’re the only people who can make it which is so unusual. They get up on stage for a soundcheck and boom! They do the sound which is their own. It’s very rare in my opinion. I wasn’t a huge Mission Of Burma fan, I played their records because you were supposed to and I needed to catch up and they were cool. But I liked 'Mica' a lot and I loved the fact that they were congruent enough to make an honest sound, and to be able to find three other people to be able to make that sound with at the same time is pretty impressive, I think.
