WATCH: Gary Numan Interview - Part 2
Laurie Tuffrey , October 15th, 2013 12:11

Numan talks to Simon Price about how long he plans to continue making music for and the potential of collaborating with Trent Reznor

In the second of our Gary Numan video interviews filmed at London's Hospital Club last month, Simon Price passes on fan questions about mistakes he's made in the past, whether or not he'll stay in Los Angeles and when he plans to retire, with Numan saying of the latter: "There's a point to get out of it when it's the coolest point to do it, and I hope it recognise it before anyone else does".

He also touches on what inspires him to write, saying: "Happiness doesn't make me want to write. I'm not miserable or morose at all, [I] bumble through life with a stupid grin, but when it comes to what I write about, it's very, very different."

One fan also asks about the potential for collaboration with his L.A. neighbour Trent Reznor, which it seems is a strong possibility, with Numan saying: "I'm very very conscious of not wanting to look as if I'm trying to hang on his shirt-tails… so I'm very passive about it... [but] of all the people that there are to work with, he would probably be the one that I'd most admire."
