Spacemen 3 luminary set for live collaboration with visual artists Heretic

The Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia have made the final addition to the line-up of this year's event, taking place at Camp & Furnace from September 27-28.

Sonic Boom, Spacemen 3 founder and production mastermind, will be performing a live collaboration with Heretic, the London-based visual artists and screen-printers, and the Quietus' usual go-to men for our gig posters (to have a look at their latest work for us, the poster for our Five Years Party, scroll to the foot of the page).

Say the Psych Fest of the pairing: "The two will come together for the premiere of an Arts Council-supported project creating an immersive audiovisual installation, within a bespoke gallery space at Camp & Furnace. The piece will combine a new audio/sound design piece by Sonic Boom, and a fully immersive visual sphere (combining light and print elements) from Heretic. Liverpool Psych Fest will be the only chance to experience this unique, individual piece of work."

As well as that, the festival have also added Trans and unveiled their non-music programme, which includes a short films selection curated by Shindig! Magazine, a lightshow by Innerstrings, talks from University of Greenwich psychology lecturer David Luke, covering "psychedelic sound and perception", and Andy Roberts, author of Albion Dreaming: A Social History Of LSD In Britain and an opening night show of 'The Portal', Julian Hand's current visual accompaniment to The Oscillation's show, which sees him dabbling in "glass slides, water coloured inks, coloured oils, and household chemicals".

This all comes in addition to a mightily impressive line-up that already boasts Moon Duo, Ty Segall's Fuzz, Clinic and more; for tickets and full details, head to the festival's website now.
