If you've been following the Quietus' Hyperspecific columns over the past couple of years, you'll probably have noticed the regular appearance of Livity Sound, and its three constituent members, Peverelist (pictured above), Kowton and Asusu.

Based in Bristol, all three first attracted attention for their work in the city's dubstep and loosely speaking 'post dubstep' communities, with Peverelist's jungle-inspired tracks especially some of the most unique of the city's recent dance music. In the past two years they've joined forces for live performances and a series of 12"s featuring solo and collaborative music from the trio's three members, which work in a bass-heavy techno/jungle/grime domain.

They've now announced that all the music from that series, along with Pev & Kowton's banging 'Raw Code' which was released via Hessle Audio earlier this year, will be gathered together on non-vinyl format for the first time on a double-CD compilation entitled simply Livity Sound. Released on October 21st, it features Alex Digard's Aztec hieroglyph-esque artwork that has adorned the 12"s (see below), and also will include four more tracks that will be issued on 12" in the time between now and the compilation release date. They include Pev & Kowton's fantastic 'End Point', which has been a regular fixture in recent DJ sets by both. For full tracklist, see bottom of page.

For anyone who hasn't checked out any of Livity's music to date, this presents an ideal opportunity - it's some of the best music to have emerged from the ashes of the mid-late 2000s dubstep scene.
