Brian Chippendale maps out his madcap sonics with equally volatile sketchbook video

We've been enjoying everything we've heard coming out of Brian Chippendale of Lightning Bolt's drum-mounted oscillator-toting Black Pus project, and here's another teaser, '1000 Years', from the new album All My Relations, coming out on March 18 via Thrill Jockey.

All the drawings of stick people putting paid to one another are Chippendale's own - he says: "The flip books were drawn probably in 4th or 5th grade. There are nearly 1000 pages. The cover of the books usually said 'adventurer' on them" - which probably goes some way towards explaining the genesis of the music, a sledgehammer-smack of frenetic drumming and waves of scuzzy bass over which Chippendale shouts through his vocals, coming across in echoes from some distant vortex. Mad, but in a very fine way.
