Oneida Announce 2013 European Tour
Laurie Tuffrey , December 20th, 2012 08:33

The Brooklynites say merry Christmas via the medium of Christmas (w)rapping album

Oneida have announced a six-date European tour for next year.

The Brooklyn arch-experimenters will be playing the following:

MARCH 2013
Fri 15 - Corsica Studios, London
Sat 16 - Blå, Oslo, Norway
Sun 17 - Jazzhouse, Copenhagen, Denmark
Mon 18 - Comet Club, Berlin, Germany
Tue 19 - Chapeau Rouge, Prague, Czech Republic
Wed 20 - Feierwerk, Munich, Germany

And, if this wasn't occasion for much mirth already, the band are making it even more festive by linking you up with a Oneida Christmas album (of sorts), recorded by the band's Barry London and collaborator Brad Truax. Ever wanted to hear 'Last Christmas' given extra cheer with a few verses of rapping? Well, now you can:

To accompany the album, here's a merry message from the band themselves: "Oneida would like to gift wrap the announcement of 2013 European Oneida dates (a true holiday miracle!) in these traditional (to some...) holiday jamz by Brah Records recording artists Brad Truax (Home, Dan Melchior's Broke Revue, Jah Division, Soldiers of Fortune... maybe you saw him at the U2 concert playing bass for Interpol??) and Oneida's own Barry London. Many Oneida brahs, sahs, and trahs contribute to the cheer on these recordings, some who are noted (Antony, Kria Brekken), some whose unmistakeable playing you'll take pleasure in discOvering for yourself. For what is more joyful than the unwrapping?

Happy Holidays, Oneida"

Couldn't have said it better ourselves.
