The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion have announced their much-anticipated return with a new album, Meat and Bone, this September via the Bronze Rat label. Says Mr Jon Spencer of the record, "We still have that psychic glue that allows us to create music together. Over the course of a year touring and writing new songs and recording, we rediscovered our shared history as a band. We circled the wagons, and went back to our roots. In a way this is almost like another first album." Hell yeah! You can check out new track 'Black Mold' below:

Some people need to know when to STOP. How many years is it and Jon Spencer STILL can't write a goddamn song? Hire a lyricist if you can't do it yourself, spare us the bum yowling white boy of privilege.

Get in! Great song, funny with full-on rock & roll sound, like a raw (ie better recorded) Plastic Fang track. It's been eight years since the last studio album, you know. (Didn't Judah Bauer kind of dismiss Blues Explosion as little more than a cash cow a few years ago? Hope he feels differently nowadays if so.)

I still do! Great album. I'm addicted to that song "Money Rock'N'Roll" in particular. A right rush. Great sort of Stones sound. Production's fine. I'd have just preferred it slightly more raw.
