Stateside dubbed-out pop duo to release Lucifer in June

Peaking Lights, the US duo of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis, are set to release their third album Lucifer through Weird World on 18th June. It marks the follow-up to last year's generally well received 936 LP, which was originally released through LA label Not Not Fun before being properly issued in the UK and Europe by Weird World.

Lucifer was apparently recorded in Brooklyn over the space of a month. The duo's sound, which they've said owes much to their crate digging sensibilities and love of dub, looks set to remain largely in a similar place, though the album promises to expand outwards into "analogue electronic dance music, sound collage and straight up pop".

“To us this record is about play and playfulness, unconditional love, rhythms and pulses, creation and vibration,” said Coyes of Lucifer.

The duo have also announced a new series of mix tapes, which will be appearing online at the Lucifer site in the time leading up to the album's release. The first is available now and apparently offers "a few distant glimpses of [the album]'s many spoils".

The album's tracklist looks set to keep the peace, love and weed smoke feel of 936 running strong across its length:

'Moonrise'
'Beautiful Son'
'Live Long'
'Cosmic Tides'
'Midnight'
'Lo Hi'
'Dream Beat'
'Morning Star'
