Blondes Announce Debut Album
The Quietus , January 20th, 2012 06:23

Blondes due for release on February 6th, play album launch in London on February 16th

Excellent Brooklyn dance duo Blondes are set to release their debut album through RVNG Intl. on February 6th. Entitled Blondes, it gathers together tracks from the series of three 12"s they released last year through the label, along with two brand new tracks.

Over the last few years the duo, consisting of Sam Haar and Zach Steinman, have been slowly honing a thick, colour-saturated take on four-to-the-floor dance music. Last year's RVNG 12"s - Lover/Hater, Business/Pleasure and Wine/Water were their most fully-realised releases yet. The album consists of those six tracks, along another linked pair, 'Gold' and 'Amber', which were apparently almost entirely improvised and recorded in single takes.

Accompanying the album will be a second disc of remixes. They've gathered a fitting variety of names to take on the duo's music - the likes of Laurel Halo, Optimo's JD Twitch, Andy Stott and John Roberts, all of whom share a similar interest in stretching the boundaries of club-oriented music.

To launch the album, Blondes will be performing live at the Shacklewell Arms, London, on 16th February.
