As we reported a couple of weeks back, the Quietus is very excited to be helping out with the Independent Label market in Spitalfields this coming Saturday, 10th December. A special event specifically for labels distributed by PIAS, who lost a great deal of their stock in the warehouse fire during this summer's riots, it offers the chance for people to purchase records directly from the heads of the labels involved. As we first reported, the list includes Angular, Big Dada, Ninja Tune, Brownswood, Chemikal Underground, One Little Indian, Sonic Cathedral and many more.

Now we've got some more news about the Market, in the run up to the weekend. Rough Trade Shops, Sunday Best, Best Before & Wonderfulsound have all been added to the roster of labels present on the day (for the full list see the bottom of this article).

Several labels have announced some of the exclusive bits and pieces they'll be selling on the day. Particularly collector friendly is one single signed pink vinyl copy of Elton John's 'Are You Ready For Love' from Southern Records - the sort of thing you'd need to turn up rather early to have a hope of bagging. Double Six are selling signed Bill Ryder Jones and John Cale records, and Chemikal Underground will be offering test pressings of Mogwai's Come On Die Young, Interpol's debut Fukd I.D. #3 and Arab Strap's Week Never Starts Round Here.

And as well as helping out on the day, the Quietus is taking over the Old Blue Last in Shoreditch for a free gig later that evening. We've got one of our favourite new bands Toy headlining, with Dave ID in support, and Quietus (and possibly some other people too) taking on DJ duties for the evening. Come and join us for a drink and some excellent music.
