Frankly, Elliott needed a disciplinary force of some kind. Staying out all night, pretending to be sick to get out of school, apparently endless access to Reese’s Pieces. The kid was out of control. And if the diminutive alien was supposed to be a father figure, he did a pretty terrible job of it. Really, he was nothing more than an enabler. Kind of a deadbeat for a fake dad.
