So you may have read Neil Kulkarni's iron shod kicking of the first Stone Roses album and John Tatlock's informative rejoinder; two of the best pieces we've run in recent months.

All this got us thinking about all the other great albums that were released in 1989 and the (unavoidable) canonical narrowing effect, with good albums galore shooting down the memory hole.
