Glittergate - Sparks Fly Over Glam Gig!
John Doran , May 27th, 2009 14:32

Quietus approved glam combo the Glitter Band are playing one of their barnstorming sets in London this weekend.

Our friend Mz Heidi Heelz, a member of the Guillotines and Proxy Music, is putting the band on this Saturday at the Lexington, near Kings Cross, London as part of her Glam Racket night.

La Heelz said this was happening despite some skullduggery however: "There are two Glitter Bands in existence - one rubbish one containing original member Pete Phipps and one ace one containing original members John Rossall and Harvey Ellison. I have booked the ace one, obviously, but this sparked a spat between the two bands culminating in phone calls to me from Pete Phipps' lawyer intimating that if I put Rossall's band on I'd end up in court.

"He also told me Rossall wasn't allowed to use the name 'The Glitter Band' (which he is) and if the gig goes ahead Rossall will be sent to prison . . ."

To which we say resist the scoundrel Phipps and his bogus litigation and go and see the original double drummers getting wicked instead! More details at the myspace I Love Glam Racket!
