The Quietus grabs its joystick for a ride through a playlist of music from the best (and weirdest) video games of the past decade

These days bands are selling more tracks through Guitar Hero than they are from the shelves of record stores, Grand Theft Auto's virtual radio stations probably have more listeners than Radio 1 and whole departments of publishing companies are dedicated to sync deals for games.

So for this Friday’s Spotify playlist we take a little trip through some of the more memorable, innovative and downright bizarre highlights of the deployment of music in video games. Playlist and gallery text compiled by Chris Etches, games designer from Kill5.
